Great Parenting Products: Potty Watch, Nosefrida, and Firefly Phones

I am a parent of the new millenium. I believe in paying my bills online. I shop at Organic food stores. I only allow my child to have 8 ounces of juice or sugary drinks per day, and I try to make sure that he has access to all the comforts and joys that any two year old child should.

That said, I am also a woman of the new millenium, and I have tons of things to do in one day. I like my time to be spent effectively, and I utilize technology so that I can maximize my time. The following products are all things I have used, wished I would have used, or plan to use to keep my son safe, happy, prepared, and comfortable. Likewise, they are all things that take a little bit of the edge off, and I can forego that glass of Piesporter in favor of a good swig of mineral water with lemon!

The Potty Watch from PottyTime is going to be my new best friend. My son has been potty training for months, and while he is pretty much going, he is not telling us,we are telling him, and he often does not want to stop what he is doing to go use the restroom. So, I know that he loves to be like Daddy, and Daddy wears a watch. What better way to teach my little bee how simple it is to let someone know you have to potty, than to give him a timer that goes off every so often, and reminds him, by song, to go to the potty! HE will be confident in his abilities, he will feel more independent and want to show that, and hopefully we can finally tackle this issue and get it resolved. Preschool requires potty training...and he IS going to preschool!

This would have a been a life saver. My son had more nasal congestion than any child in history, and it was a constant struggle trying to make him feel better, while also cleaning his nose...something he HATES! I came across this soon after his congestion was wearing off, and I thought it was ingenious. By simply using the tube, which has a block, like a straw, you can ease the congestion out of the baby easily. Don't you wish YOU had invented it!

I see tons of kids with cell phones, that look just like mine, and they are gabbing away about what Tasha had on at school or what Melanie said back to the teacher. I shudder at the thought of what their parents must pay to keep them connected, not knowing that they are talking on the phone every minute they can. This product, the Glow Firefly, allows you to programs phone numbers in, it sings songs and has games, so your child feels responsible, like they have an adult phone, and you control how much calling is done and to whom. Your bill will never be sky high, and your kids will be able to contact you at the press of a button!

Embrace technology and new things...

The Green Machine: Keeping it Old School

Some KingBees were talking one day about the Green Machine, and I, HoneyBee, was certain they were talking about some superhero's vehicle, or at the very least, something similar to Kit from Night Ride.
Well, they were actually talking about a 80s toy, and being an 80s baby, who prides herself on being very true to her decade, I was shocked that I had not heard of it. I came home, like I do many times when I hear about new things, and checked it out online. I found the above picture and thought, oh, a souped up Big Wheel...cool.

Well to my surprise, when I was looking for the perfect gift for my soon to be three year old's birthday, I ran across this:

The NEW Huffy Green Machine, that retails for $99.00 at Target and Amazon.com.

I was intrigued by this thing, and while my three year old is tall for his age, he is in NO way tall enough to work this contraption. But nonetheless, it would be a cool gift for a six year old, who loves bikes. He would be the king biker bee of his block on this...and it sorta looks like a Transformer...and you cannot get any cooler than Optimus Prime!!!!
