Baby Jamz: To The Hip Hop You Don't Stop

Every child is different, and so is every toy. When you combine those two phenomenon, you find that while many children might love hearing "It's a Small World" over and over on their favorite toy, some kids, like my son-an avid Alicia Keys and Jay-Z fan-would shriek at the mere thought.

So when Matthew and Solange Knowles, father and sister to mega-star Beyonce Knowles, teamed up to make Baby Jamz, they had the more soulful child in mind. Baby Jamz produces toys such as the Mix Master Chair, which allows your child to add hip hop beats to their favorite nursery rhyme (surely a toy I would be playing with while my son was not looking!)

As a habit, be sure to tailor your child's toys, educational or not, to their own distinctive interests and personalities. You will foster a sense of self-esteem and independence that will prove to be great assets as they grow into teens and young adults!

CrewCuts: Preppy Style for Busy Bees

J. Crew's mini-me line, CrewCuts is filled with the type of classic and preppy pieces you would expect from J. Crew. The designers have used some of the same prints and themes as the parent store, but in styles and colors that are age appropriate. These are some of our favorite pieces from this season's line for girls:
